Stainless Steel Juicer -The Preferred Choice

Saturday, September 27th, 2008 by admin

When choosing a juicer one thing you should consider is wheather to go with plastic or stainless steel.

Since you are making the commitment to purchase a juice extractor there are a couple things to consider first.

  • Staining

  • Durability

  • Weight

  • Apperance

Staining

Most good quality juice extractors will last for years to come. I have a small Juiceman Junior that has lasted at least 12 years and is still going strong. However, it is a bit of an eyesore. Over time all the acid and dyes from the friuts and vegetables have stained the plastic beyond cleaning.

This is the first reason I recommend going with a stainless juicer. There is less scrubbing and cleaning.

Durability

Over time those inevitable bumps and dings are going to happen in the kitchen and the stainless juicer is just more durable and will hold up better over time.

Weight

A heavier metal juicer will outperforms a plastic one that has the tendancy to want to spin from all fast rotation of the juice extractor.

Appearance

Lastly if you plan to leave your juice extractor on the counter. The stainless juicer is much more pleasing to the eye. Having to stow away a stained plastic juicer after every use can be a pain in the neck over time.
